On Eurocham Women in Business Sector Committee

Embedding principles of Gender Equality and Womens Empowerment in corporate policies result in more revenue for businesses. By now this should be no news. But as is often the case, implementing these wisdoms is a very different story.

For EuroCham in Vietnam we are embarking on a road less traveled by promoting the participation and leadership of women in business and society. After various attempts to bring forth these issues that are entrenched in the European world view of equality,  inclusion, and diversity in public as well as the private sector, it is high time that Eurocham Vietnam provides a platform that reflects their importance.

The time now is pertinent as the EVFTA and the European Union in Vietnam  implore us all to safeguard sustainable trade and sustainable development, and promote diversityandinclusion. At the very least, we should try to set an EU standard on women in business and women in leadership for ourselves that we can be proud of. It is time to advocate not just for what makes the most business sense, but is also just the right thing to do!
