EQ and Happiness – What’s the link? Learn how EQ matters to a more fulfilled and happy life.
Are you aware of the emotion you are feeling?
Could you manage those feelings without allowing them to overcome you?
Could you motivate yourself to get jobs done? Have you sense the emotions of others and respond effectively?
If you can answer YES to these questions, it is likely that you have developed some or all of the skills that form the basis of emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence (EQ) is actually the juncture at which cognition and emotion meet, it somehow facilitates our capacity for resilience, motivation, empathy, reasoning, stress management, communication, and also our ability to read and navigate various social situations and conflicts. EQ really matters and if developed affords one the opportunity to realize a more fulfilled and happy life.
It is important to know that emotional intelligence can lead us on the path to a fulfilled and happy life by providing a framework through which to apply standards of intelligence to various emotional responses and understand that these responses can be logically consistent or inconsistent with particular beliefs about emotion. Hence, EQ, unlike its relatively fixed cousin, IQ, is instead a dynamic aspect of one’s psyche and includes various behavioral traits that, when managed properly, can provide significant benefits, from personal happiness and well-being to elevated success.
